THE BEAUTY AND CHANGEABILITY OF THE OKLAHOMA SKY RECONCEPTUALIZED THROUGH TECHNOLOGY

VIRTUAL SKY is a realtime LED light sculpture that spans the two large public atriums of the city’s new Convention Center

Programmable LED lights connected to a stream of information from Oklahoma City Open Data Portals trace the city’s climate data. This data is analyzed and translated into patterns of light to create real-time shifts in movement and color that reflect upon the natural world.

It evolves in tandem with the environment itself. It parallels the complexity of ongoing natural phenomena.
